Our client, a premier international
distributor of teas was seeking a partner company that could help them
develop and deploy an e-commerce system. DSI, using Active Server Pages
and a Microsoft SiteServer platform, developed a database and browser
interfaces to the website. In addition, DSI designed the graphics and
static HTML web pages for our client.

After understanding the desires of our
client's management team, DSI began to develop a concept for the
website. To truly understand their needs, DSI created specification
documents and prototype applications for each type of functionality
required by our client. The prototype applications were based on DSI's
expertise in client-server application development and extended the
functionality of back-office processes to the world of the Internet.
DSI
then designed a complete data structure operating on Microsoft's
SiteServer platform. The data structure allows users to register, store
shopping carts, manage profiles, and order items. It also includes a
fully functional on-line catalog that can be maintained by our client's
web administrative staff.
Our client successfully deployed a
fully functional e-commerce site to their specifications in a matter of
months. The site allows for the administrative staff to maintain
catalogs and order reports through a remote management utility built
using Visual Basic. |
