Portfolio Management System
|
Introduction
The Portfolio Management System is a sales and trading support system for portfolios holding fixed-income, equity, and derivative securities. It is currently employed by major trading operations in New York and London.
The Portfolio Management System maintains traders'
positions across multiple trading accounts. It tracks and displays sales
and trader views of activity. It tracks unrealized and realized P&L
by trader, security, and account. It tracks sales by sales person, date,
security, and customer, and sales can be broken out by sub account or
aggregated at the institutional account level. Each trading day begins
with the reconciled end-of-day totals from the previous trading day.
The Portfolio Management System supports real-time interfaces to other enterprise applications and to financial data providers. It processes transaction data to produce master and customer name-and-address tables, and it performs yield calculations for fixed-income securities. It captures traders' marks to market and provides comparisons to market feeds for trader and management review. The Portfolio Management System's real-time processing permits generation of status reports as required both during and at the end of the trading day.
